Wizarding Marriages and Choice Aug. 4th, 2007 @ 12:06 am
I have absolutely no idea why people are claiming that wizarding marriages are for life AND that wizards CANNOT cheat on each other. I do understand that people are frustrated that those who don't like the canon ships are writing cheating-spouses fics, but honestly, that's actually been going on for a while and you're not required to read those fics; if you don't like the idea then DON'T read them. No one is making you. And if you got your knickers in a twist every time you merely HEARD about a fic that runs counter to the way you perceive the Potterverse, well, you'd always be walking down the street kind of funny and people would wonder why you just don't eat more bran or something. ;)

But even apart from that, insisting that wizards cannot divorce or cheat on each other when they have been married in a wizarding ceremony makes absolutely no sense and I'll tell you why.( Read more... )
